Tree in winter

Spring foliage flown
Warm sparks of autumn a memory,
now beautiful in cool simplicity

Free of leafy distractions
the strong and experienced branches
Allow for further vistas; field, stream, sky

How like the winter of my life
And looking closely, I notice the buds of new life
In my heart, and on the cool, simple branches.

Observations of a sparrow.

Sky brilliantly calling
I fly in freedom
Til I remember
my broken wing
and tumble into fear
til the One who sees
every sparrow fall
catches me
Again.

underground

I buried treasure
stolen from summer
hibernating blue
slumbering gold
like sleeping beauty
waits for the kiss
of May.

metamorphis

Color abandoned branches
 floating, coral-like
shelter little creatures
of the grey sky ocean.

Honey

The bee in my garden

works alongside me

humming a song of gratitude

for her impossible flight.
